Senior Robotics Computer Vision Engineer
We’re working with an early-stage robotics startup building the AI intelligence layer for industrial robots, enabling them to adapt to the real world rather than follow hard-coded instructions 🤖👁️
Their focus: using computer vision and learning-based systems to make robotic arms flexible enough to operate in messy, variable manufacturing environments.
Why this role stands out
👁️ Own the computer vision & perception stack for real robotic systems
📐 Work on 3D vision, geometry, calibration, and sensor fusion
🏭 Deploy CV systems into live industrial environments
, not labs
🚀 Join a small, elite founding team with huge technical ownership
💥 Direct impact on hardware, software, and real customer deployments
What you’ll be doing
- 📷 Designing and implementing computer vision pipelines for robotic perception
- 👁️ Selecting and validating sensing hardware (RGB, stereo, RGB-D, ToF, structured light, laser profiling)
- 🧩 Aligning real sensor data with CAD models and robot frames
- 🧠 Extracting geometry, pose, and scene understanding for downstream planning and control
- 🔍 Making perception systems robust to noise, lighting variation, reflections, and occlusion
What they’re looking for
- 👁️ Strong computer vision background with real-world deployment experience
- 📐 Solid understanding of geometry, transformations, and multi-view vision
- 🤖 Exposure to robotics or physical systems (you don’t need to build robots from scratch)
- 💥 Comfortable working in early-stage environments with ambiguity and ownership
- 💸 Salary up to £180k + equity (exceptional profiles higher)
- 📍 London-based,
office-first (5 days/week) - ✈️ Occasional travel to US-based industry partners
