Director, Economics Team – Sovereign Group (London)

We are a global leader in financial information services, operating in more than 30 countries and owned by Hearst. Our Economics team, in partnership with the Sovereign ratings team, drives flagship research such as the Global Economic Outlook (GEO) and supports the Fitch Ratings brand worldwide.
About The TeamFitch Ratings Economics team produces the flagship Global Economic Outlook (GEO) report, covering 20 of the world’s largest economies, and creates critical macro‑view research for credit analysis.

- Produce thematic and topical global macro research reports and commentary
- Co‑ordinate and develop macro input into credit analysis for ratings teams
- Engage in economics team outreach, including media, conferences, investor meetings
- Master’s degree in economics
- Extensive experience as an applied macroeconomist in policy, research or market role
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to initiate and execute original and insightful global macro research
- Forecasting experience and knowledge of forecasting, modelling techniques and scenario analysis
- Excellent understanding of macroeconomic policy trade‑offs and challenges
- Awareness of interactions between macroeconomic conditions and credit environment
- Knowledge of global fixed income and credit markets and their use of credit ratings
