Private Client Tax Manager

My client, a well-established Top 100 Accountancy firm with a strong presence across the entertainment, sports and creative sectors, is seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join their expanding team. You’ll oversee a diverse portfolio of HNWIs, non-domiciled individuals, partners, directors, and private clients across a range of sectors.

Role Overview

You will manage the delivery of high-quality private client tax compliance and advisory services, lead and develop a team of tax staff, and work closely with Partners on complex planning projects.

This role offers autonomy, client ownership, and strong prospects for progression.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring compliance work is delivered accurately and on time

• Review complex Self-Assessment tax returns and advise on technical matters

• Lead advisory projects covering residence/domicile, CGT, IHT, wealth structuring and estate planning

• Act as key point of contact for clients, building strong long-term relationships

• Manage HMRC interactions and oversee detailed correspondence

• Supervise, mentor and develop junior team members

• Monitor workflow, billing and WIP, ensuring efficient portfolio management

• Conduct technical research and support Partners with bespoke consultancy work

Requirements

• Extensive experience in Private Client Tax within practice (Manager level or an experienced Assistant Manager ready to step up)

• CTA qualified (ACA/ACCA advantageous) or extensive practice experience in personal/private client tax.

• Strong technical knowledge across income tax, CGT, IHT, residence and domicile

• Proven client management and team leadership skills

• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving ability
