Your Mo-Mission (should you choose to accept it):

Reporting to the Global Lead - Advocacy & Policy, you will direct the implementation of our EU advocacy and policy strategies – helping to build political will, strong alliances with civil society, shape public attitudes and create the necessary pressure to influence health systems.

You’ll be leading Movembers skills, expertise and capabilities in advocacy & policy within European Parliamentary bodies. You will also work alongside senior leaders skilled in research, media, mobilisation, supporter engagement, partnerships and partnerships to draw on your political nous and strategic background to fuel our engagement with key audiences and stakeholders that build political will for our advocacy focus areas.

You will be responsible for:

  • Operationalising and leading Movember’s advocacy and policy strategy in the EU.
  • Taking responsibility for the development and management of a local advocacy partnership strategy and support management of key relationships eg. health systems, governments, policy makers, research and clinical partners, industry associations, corporates and marketing partners. Including proactively engaging with Europe’s top politicians and NGOs to hold relationships that will change policy.
  • Working with our online harms team to influence regulation and policy to improve the experiences of young men online.
  • Leading and coordinating events and engagement of health professionals and health organisations to socialise and promote Movember policy agenda.
  • Producing submissions and policy briefs on topics relevant to health for government inquiries and agencies.
  • Partner with the Movember Mar Comms colleagues to develop public engagement and media strategies that drive and support policy change inline with our advocacy priorities.
  • Managing government relations and media relations consultants, ensuring they have clear briefs, which deliver against your local advocacy strategy on time and against budget.
  • Work as internal champion for advocacy and policy work, working to ensure colleagues in the policy and advocacy team across Movembers core six markets are aware of your work in the EU and you are learning from other markets as well as other departments.
No Moustache Required - but the following are:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in public policy, politics, political science or related disciplines or equivalent relatable experience.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and communicated regularly about activities.
  • 8+ years' experience in the development of policies, position statements and briefing papers or the leadership of advocacy campaigns with a policy focus within the EU. Experiencing in establishing collaborative relationships with EU bodies.
  • A well-versed public speaker who can adapt speaking opportunities to flex for a government or internal audience.
  • Experience working for an agency or leading agency partners.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent social research skills and ability to apply analysis and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply contemporary research principles and practices to your work.
  • Experience in adapting work to politically agile times and adapting to changing government priorities.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment and take personal responsibility for leading others and prioritising and managing workload.
Not Mission Critical - but for extra bonus points:
  • Comprehensive understanding of health legislation and policy.
  • Experience working in online harms and tech regulation.
