As the Public Affairs Manager you will listen to and represent the views of our stakeholders across GTR, ensuring we run services that match their needs. You will develop and proactively manage positive relationships with external stakeholders such as members of Parliament, the GLA, local authorities, rail user groups and community groups. This role will help deliver GTR’s Business Plan and National Rail Contract and enhance GTR’s brand reputation as a business that cares about the communities it operates within.

• Organise forums to support engagement with stakeholders.
• Write concise and engaging briefings and newsletters on the latest developments to share with stakeholders.
• Produce communication plans on a range of topics and help deliver them.
• Provide written responses to queries from the public and rail user groups.

• A Public Affairs professional with experience in Corporate Affairs or Public Affairs related roles.
• Evidence of success in implementing strategies and campaigns to achieve lobbying and communications objectives and of mobilising mixed teams in support.
• Evidence of written communications across a variety of styles.
• Experience working with Government officials and civil servants, including MPs, and building long‑term strategic relationships to deliver significant business value.
