About the TeamThe Payments & Blockchain team transforms raw blockchain signals, payment logs, and platform usage into actionable insights for product, trading, and operational decisions.
Role OverviewYou will build models, metrics, and pipelines to deepen Kraken’s understanding of onchain behavior and payments performance, influencing product improvements and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Analyze blockchain and payments data at scale.
- Validate blockchain transactions and reconcile onchain data with internal ledgers.
- Interact with blockchain APIs and the data lake to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Build and maintain automated data models and ETL pipelines using SQL, Python, Airflow, and dbt.
- Design dashboards that reveal trends across user growth, capital movement, and transaction health.
- Develop and automate KPIs to monitor product health, payments success, and system reliability.
- Partner with engineers to improve data quality, schema design, and pipeline performance.
- Communicate insights through clear, actionable storytelling.
- 3+ years in analytics, ideally in crypto, fintech, or financial platforms.
- Strong understanding of blockchain fundamentals.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (pandas, numpy, visualization tools).
- Experience developing ETL pipelines with Airflow or equivalent.
- Familiarity with dbt and version‑controlled analytics workflows.
- Ability to build clear and intuitive BI dashboards (Quick Sight, Tableau, etc.).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for translating technical findings into business impact.
- Experience reconciling blockchain and internal financial data at scale.
- Expertise automating reconciliation, validation, or monitoring systems.
