Role Summary – ERP Cloud Financials Lead Consultant

The ERP Cloud Financials Lead Consultant is responsible for leading functional design, configuration, and delivery of cloud-based ERP Financial modules. The role collaborates closely with clients and internal teams to translate finance business requirements into effective ERP solutions. As a subject matter expert, the Lead Consultant provides guidance through all phases of the implementation lifecycle, manages functional work streams, and ensures successful deployment of the ERP financial applications.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Leadership

Lead end-to-end delivery of ERP Cloud Financial modules (e.g., GL, AP, AR, FA, CM, Projects).

Conduct requirement workshops, fit-gap analyses, and business process mapping.

Provide subject matter expertise on financial processes, accounting rules, and industry best practices.

Oversee functional configuration, testing, UAT support, and production readiness activities.

Solution Design

Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications and configuration setups.

Provide recommendations on process improvements, solution alternatives, and system efficiencies.

Validate solution designs created by team members and ensure alignment with project goals.

Support data migration strategy for financial data—chart of accounts, balances, subledger details.

Project Delivery

Lead functional workstream teams, assign tasks, and ensure timely delivery of deliverables.

Support project planning, resource estimation, and risk mitigation.

Work closely with project managers to track milestones, dependencies, and issues.

Prepare and deliver key project documents (BRDs, solution design docs, test scripts, training materials).

Integration & Reporting

Collaborate with technical teams to define integration points (banking interfaces, payroll, procurement, CRM, etc.).

Assist in development and validation of reports, dashboards, and financial statements.

Ensure that data flows and financial postings meet accounting and compliance standards.

Client Engagement & Support

Act as primary client contact for financial workstream and build strong client relationships.

Provide guidance during UAT, cutover, and post–go-live activities.

Train end-users and develop training materials.

Ensure high customer satisfaction and serve as an advisor for future enhancements.

Quality & Governance

Ensure adherence to ERP configuration standards and best practices.

Conduct peer reviews, validate testing results, and maintain high-quality documentation.

Support audit, SOX, and internal control requirements where applicable.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience

5–10+ years of experience in ERP Financials, with at least 2–5 years in cloud ERP.

Hands-on implementation experience with ERP Cloud Financial modules.

Experience with multiple full-cycle implementations strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of financial processes: GL, AP, AR, FA, CM, Projects, Revenue.

Technical & Functional Skills

Knowledge of ERP Cloud systems (Oracle Cloud Financials)

Strong configuration and solution design skills.

Familiarity with integration concepts (APIs, file-based integrations, middleware).

Ability to write functional specs and work with technical developers.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Ability to lead small teams and mentor junior consultants.

Strong client-facing and relationship-building skills
