Duties and Responsibilities

As an IT Project Manager you will support major IT Programme and Commercial Management commissions, providing end‑to‑end technology service delivery. The role includes:

  • Advising clients how technology can overcome business challenges and developing best‑in‑class, future‑proof solutions.
  • Managing projects of varying sizes and complexities; engaging stakeholders to manage design and coordination within the construction programme.
  • Embedding within the design team to drive technology vision, strategy development, specification creation, cost modelling, and heat‑output calculations.
  • Understanding commercial property sector pain points and focusing on user experience.
  • Supporting clients with vision and strategy development.
  • Interfacing with clients and consultants at all project stages.
  • Defining overall success criteria – time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
  • Ensuring stakeholders are aware of quality, safety, health and environment issues.
  • Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems.
  • Developing detailed project plans.
  • Leading cross‑functional project teams.
  • Managing flow of information, regular meetings and written communication.
  • Managing IT change control processes.
  • Monitoring project finances and preparing progress reports.
  • Understanding IT procurement in construction/refurbishment.
  • Scheduling IT installations including AV, voice, cabling and building systems.
  • Identifying and qualifying new business opportunities.
Key Accountabilities

See above duties; the role is a combination of project leadership, stakeholder engagement, technical strategy, and business growth.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a project manager delivering integrated technology solutions.
  • Experience across multiple technical disciplines – networking, infrastructure, third‑party applications – with a comprehensive understanding of IT functions.
  • Rapid mastery of technical concepts and effective communication to diverse audiences.
  • Resourceful problem‑solving, leveraging internal and partner resources.
  • Strong understanding of APM Body of Knowledge.
  • Stakeholder management, self‑motivated, with strong verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders and build relationships.
  • One or more of the following qualifications/certifications: APM Project Management, Agile Practitioner, Prince

Desirable
  • Experience delivering SMART buildings, IoT systems and OT networks.
  • Understanding of network, fibre, SMART building, IT, OT capabilities.
  • Experience writing bid responses and presenting ideas.
  • Experience with commercial property sector.
  • Knowledge of RIBA plan of work.
  • Security clearance.
