Cyber & Technology Assurance & Strategy Manager, London/Belfast/ Manchester
Join the AIB (NI) Cyber & Technology Assurance & Strategy team in London, Belfast or Manchester.
Location / Office Policy: St Marys Axe, London or Ann Street, Belfast or Hardman Street, Manchester – 2 days a week in the office, moving to 3 days in the office from 1st Jan 2026.
What Is The Role
AIB UK is a subsidiary of AIB Group, Ireland’s largest bank, focused on retail & business banking in Northern Ireland and corporate banking in Great Britain. This strategic role reports to the UK Chief Operating Officer and works closely with the Group function to protect the bank and its customers. You will liaise with senior stakeholders, including the Managing Director of AIB UK, and occasionally present to Board committees.
Key Accountabilities
- Work with Group Cyber teams to implement effective strategies that mitigate identified cyber risks, aligning them with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with IT and UK business units to ensure risk‑mitigation actions are practical and do not hinder business operations.
- Engage with senior leadership, including the UK COO, to provide regular updates on the organisation’s cyber risk posture and collaborate with key business units and external stakeholders.
- Provide detailed risk reporting to the UK Risk Committee and relevant Board governance bodies.
- Integrate Cyber & IT risk metrics and key risk indicators (KRIs) into regular risk reporting mechanisms and maintain robust governance processes.
- Oversee Cyber & Technology Services provided to the UK by the group, including incident management, RCA management, UK Cyber and Technology MI, and incident trend analysis.
- Analyse information, problem‑solve, and make decisions using analytical skills when detecting patterns and interpreting data.
- Create engaging presentations using PowerPoint for discussion and decision at senior forums & committees.
- Collaborate with AIB Group Technology & Data to develop a combined ROI/UK digital delivery strategy, maximising re‑use of Group Digital Assets.
- Stay current with cyber threat intelligence and market trends, proactively liaising with Group Cyber teams in regular forums & committees.
- Promote a culture of cyber awareness through staff training and an engagement programme.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity & IT assurance, risk management, or related fields.
- Understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with risk assessment methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing, implementing and assuring standards and practices for technology management, including technical configuration, security and service resilience.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex risks and mitigation strategies to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
