We’re looking for a Network Engineer to join our Managed Services team on a major Public Sector project. You’ll be part of an on-site technical team responsible for installing and commissioning local area networks (LAN) across 102 customer facilities across London.
Reporting to the Senior Network Engineer, you will play a key part in commissioning and testing network infrastructure, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with technical design standards. Professionalism and attention to detail are vital — you’ll be the face of the business on customer sites daily.
Responsibilities:
* Install and configure LAN switches, wireless access points, and other network equipment
* Carry out copper and fibre patching
* Troubleshoot and resolve wired network issues with support from the wider team
* Maintain network availability and document maintenance and testing procedures
* Update ITSM systems and network design documentation with clear and accurate notes
* Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and suppliers to resolve technical issues
* Identify and suggest improvements in installation and commissioning processes
* Work closely with the Managed Services team to support handover and continuous service improvement
* Maintain excellent customer care standards across all interactions
What You’ll Bring :
Essential:
* Knowledge of common vendor switching and wireless technologies
* Understanding of LAN cabling standards and installation best practices
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Professional, self-motivated, and able to work independently
* Excellent communication and time management skills
Desirable:
* Experience with Juniper or HPE Networking technologies
* Understanding of network security principles
* Experience with network cabling installation and site surveys
* NPPV3 or SC Clearance (or eligible to obtain)
