Security Consultant – Information Protection / DLP (Contract)

We’re recruiting an experienced Security Consultant to support a large-scale Information Protection and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) programme within a complex enterprise environment.

This is a hands-on contract role focused on designing, deploying and enhancing DLP and data classification controls across a Microsoft security estate, covering technology, process and people change.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead delivery of Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and information protection initiatives

* Deploy and enhance data classification and labelling controls

* Work across Microsoft security technologies including Purview, Azure Information Protection (AIP) and Defender for Cloud Apps

* Support development of security governance, policies and standards

* Contribute to DLP response and investigation processes where required

* Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders, including HR and Legal

* Drive delivery independently across multiple work streams

Required Experience

* Proven experience delivering DLP / information protection programmes

* Strong knowledge of data classification, data leakage prevention and governance

* Hands-on experience within Microsoft security environments

* Understanding of data privacy, compliance and legal considerations

* Ability to lead delivery with minimal oversight

* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable

* CISSP or CISM certification

* Background in security consulting or enterprise transformation programmes

This role suits a senior-level security consultant with real delivery experience, rather than SOC, IR or penetration testing profiles.
