Head of Development – Digital Data Hub Trading Firm | £200,000 + Bonus + Benefits | Hybrid – London

A leading cross-asset trading firm is undergoing a multi-year transformation, building a next-generation Digital Data Hub (DDH) and a forward-thinking technology vision, the business is redefining its core architecture to enable data-driven decision making at scale.

As part of this strategic change, the firm is seeking a Head of Development to lead a newly created, mission-critical technology stream
. This role reports directly to the CTO and offers a clear pathway to broader engineering leadership or future CTO opportunities. You will be at the forefront of the firm’s enterprise technology strategy, serving as the executive lead for this transformational build.

This is not a hands-on coding role—it’s a strategic leadership position demanding vision, influence, and the ability to execute  will define the technology roadmap, shape the engineering function, and take ownership of delivering a business-critical platform from the ground up. With full backing from the executive team, this is a rare opportunity to lead a greenfield initiative and build a world‑class technology capability.

In this role, you’ll act as both the architectural and strategic lead, working closely with the CTO and senior business stakeholders to ensure that the technical direction aligns with the firm’s trading priorities. This is a high‑impact role suited for someone who understands the intersection of technology and commercial value within capital markets.

The platform you’ll develop will have wide-reaching influence across the organisation—supporting teams across commodities, FX, risk, operations, and more. It will be one of the first of its kind within the business, providing critical infrastructure and capabilities that will underpin the firm’s long‑term trading and analytics strategy.

• Take full ownership of the strategic development and execution of the Digital Data Hub – a flagship initiative set to transform the firm’s technology infrastructure.
• Define and own the architectural blueprint and long-term vision for a platform that will serve as the backbone of trading, analytics, and risk systems across the firm.
• Build and lead a high‑calibre engineering function from the ground up, setting a culture of innovation, quality, and delivery excellence.
• Work in lockstep with the CTO, playing a central role in shaping enterprise technology strategy and driving critical decisions at the highest level.
• Ensure the technology stream delivers solutions that directly support and enhance real‑time trading performance, data precision, and risk insight.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery—including budgeting, hiring, delivery planning, and stakeholder management—with autonomy and strategic influence.
• Act as the senior technical authority in the organisation, trusted to challenge, advise, and align stakeholders at both board and executive levels.

• Proven experience leading technology strategy and delivery in complex environments—ideally within trading, financial services, or highly data‑driven businesses.
• A visionary architect with a strong grasp of platform engineering, systems integration, and scalable enterprise technology.
• Exceptional leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate across business, technical, and executive domains.
• Commercially minded, results‑driven, and experienced in building high-performing teams in fast‑paced or greenfield environments.
• Motivated by impact and autonomy, and excited to shape a critical technology pillar that will directly influence trading and investment outcomes.
• Understanding of capital markets, commodities, or risk-focused trading platforms is highly advantageous.
