Regional Director – Nursing & Care Homes (Essex, London & Kent)
Hours:
40 hours per week
Salary: £85,000 per annum + bonus
Additional:
Car allowance
Portfolio: 5 nursing and care homes (approx. 355 beds)
About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regional Director to join a well-established care provider operating across Essex, London and Kent.
This is a senior leadership role with full accountability for the operational, quality, and financial performance of five nursing and care homes. You will provide visible, credible leadership to Home Managers, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality care, while driving performance and continuous improvement across the region.
Working closely with central support functions and senior stakeholders, the Regional Director will play a key role in strengthening governance, embedding best practice, and supporting services through change.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the operational performance of a portfolio of nursing and care homes
* Coach, mentor, and performance-manage Home Managers
* Maintain oversight of compliance, quality, and clinical governance
* Drive improvement in resident experience, outcomes, and operational efficiency
* Hold responsibility for regional budgets, occupancy, and cost control
* Act as a senior point of contact for inspections and improvement activity
* Promote a strong culture of accountability, professionalism, and compassionate care
About You
You will be a confident, influential leader with proven experience in senior operational roles within the care sector.
Essential:
* Experience overseeing nursing homes in a regional or multi-site role
* Strong knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements
* Track record of driving performance and leading services through change
Desirable:
* Clinical background or extensive experience working closely with nursing services
