Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £40,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience) + package
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established mechanical and fabrication contractor for an experienced Sheet Metal Worker to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be based across commercial projects and/or workshop fabrication in London.
This is a long-term opportunity offering stability, consistent work and progression within a reputable business.
Role Overview
As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of metal ductwork and related components, working to technical drawings and specifications. The role may involve workshop-based fabrication and/or site installation depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Fabrication of sheet metal ductwork and HVAC components
Working with galvanised steel, aluminium and other materials
Reading and interpreting technical and fabrication drawings
Operating fabrication machinery (press brake, guillotine, rollers, etc.)
Ensuring high-quality workmanship and accuracy
Adhering to health & safety standards at all times
Working independently or as part of a team to meet production targets
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience as a Sheet Metal Worker / Ductwork Fabricator
Background in HVAC, ductwork or mechanical fabrication
Ability to work from detailed drawings and specifications
Strong attention to detail and quality
Good understanding of workshop and/or site-based processes
Valid CSCS card (where site-based)
Desirable:
NVQ / City & Guilds in Sheet Metal Work or related trade
Experience in commercial or industrial projects
Welding or specialist fabrication experience
Salary & Package
£40,000 – £55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
