Sky Showtime is Europe’s latest streaming service and we’re looking for a talented VP, Marketing Strategy & Planning (12-months Mat Cover) to join our team based in London or Amsterdam.

The role:

As a senior leader within Sky Showtime, the VP of Marketing Strategy & Planning is responsible for driving the end-to-end media and content planning strategy that fuels our business KPIs. The team’s responsibility is to lead all awareness efforts across the streaming business, spanning Amazon, D2C, B2B marketing partnerships PR, and Publicity. Doing this coordinated with the goals and initiatives from the acquisition and retention teams.

This role oversees three critical areas:

  • Annual & Quarterly Marketing Planning: Defining the level of support to each one of our titles in our content slate – territories, titles and timing to maximise impact in terms of awareness and subscriber growth.
  • Studio Partnership Management: Owning key studio relationships from a marketing perspective, providing insights for the different teams in the streaming organization and ensuring alignment on campaigns, creativity, and title planning.
  • Media Leadership: Serving as the primary owner of our media agency relationship, driving strategic rigor, innovation, and the allocation of the full paid-media investment.

As a senior member of the Streaming Management Team and reporting to the Chief Streaming Officer, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of planners, content marketers, and media specialists. You will play a key role in leading and shaping the broader marketing organisation, fostering alignment and collaboration across teams.

What you’ll lead:
  • Sky Showtime's LRP, annual & quarterly awareness and media planning strategy across Europe.
  • A multi-million-euro media investment, driving effectiveness and innovation through data science tools like our content performance prediction, estimating the traction of our titles in terms of sales and engagement in each territory.
  • Deployment of Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) to power smarter media strategy and planning decisions for our core markets.
  • Our media agency relationship, setting the strategic agenda and pushing performance.
  • Studio partnerships with NBCU & Paramount for our more than 80 titles per year title launches.
  • Bring to the streaming team the insights for our core titles every year, in collaboration with our studio stakeholders and our research team. Integrated planning across Digital, PR, B2B, Regional and Creative teams.
  • An extremely talented high-performing team, building a culture where people feel ownership and empowerment on their goals, feel safe to have the difficult conversations and provide constructive feedback, and work towards the best outcome for Sky Showtime.
What success looks like:
  • Awareness performance. Building an awareness strategy adopted across the business (D2C, PR, Partnership marketing) consistent with the full funnel goals also for acquisition and retention and engagement.
  • Generate conversation about the brand and our titles, in alignment with our shareholders definitions for the shows and talent.
  • Supporting creativity from our creative and regional teams, through validation with our partners of those creative ideas.
  • Stronger media performance and ROI in terms of acquisition and retention.
