Research Officer - Antitrust and Competition (London)
We are seeking master’s graduates to support our Antitrust and Competition business based in London. NERA (since 1961) provides expert economic analysis, data-powered policy recommendations, and rigorous testimony for law firms, corporations, regulators and governments.
Your work will involve theoretical and empirical economic analysis to assist in investigations of alleged infringements, damage claims, and regulatory reviews of mergers and acquisitions. You will join an international team working on high-profile cases at the UK, national, EU, and global levels, collaborating with colleagues worldwide.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting literature research and data analysis, spanning descriptive and econometric analysis
- Collaborating with project teams and taking responsibility for components of your analysis
- Interpreting results and presenting findings to the team and clients
- Drafting reports, memoranda, presentations and other work products
You will need:
- A BA/BSc and a Master’s or PhD in Economics or related discipline with strong academic records (specialisms such as microeconomics, industrial organization, and econometrics are of interest)
- Enjoy quantitative research and programming using quantitative software
- Comfort with Excel, R or Stata
- Strong attention to detail with analytical and critical thinking skills
- Strong English communication skills; fluency in another language is useful but not essential
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in teams
