Head Chef – British Cuisine, Dalston

About the Role

The Talbot in Dalston is building a brand-new kitchen team, and we’re looking for a skilled and passionate Head Chef with strong experience in traditional and modern British/English cuisine. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape our food offering from the ground up and play a key role in the next chapter of our pub.

• Prepare and deliver high-quality British/English dishes.
• Lead, train, and motivate a new kitchen team.
• Manage stock ordering, inventory control, and supplier relationships.
• Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and kitchen standards are met.
• Work closely with management on menu development and seasonal offerings.
• Maintain a clean, organised, efficient kitchen environment.

• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef within British cuisine.
• Strong skills in traditional and modern English cooking.
• Experience managing kitchen operations, including roster planning and stock control.
• Ability to build and lead a team effectively.
• A passion for quality ingredients and great pub food.
• Excellent communication and organisation.

Salary: £35,000 – £36,000 yearly
