A North London local authority is seeking an experienced Housing Needs Officer to join their team for an initial 3 month period.
You will be responsible for delivering statutory homelessness functions, managing live caseloads, and supporting residents at risk of homelessness in line with current legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a live caseload of homelessness applications from triage through to decision stage
Carrying out assessments and investigations under Part VII of the Housing Act 1996, as amended by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017
Making and issuing statutory decisions including s184s.
Completing Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) and carrying out prevention and relief work
Attending the office a minimum of 2 days per week
What you'll need:
Recent experience working as a Housing Options / Homelessness Officer within a UK local authority
Experience using the system HOPE is desirable but not essential.
Immediately available or available at short notice
