We’re backed by top‑tier investors, including Google Ventures, Balderton Capital and TQ Ventures. In December 2024 we secured a £40M Series‑A funding round to facilitate international expansion and grow our team, representing one of the five largest Series‑A rounds in Europe for 2024.

We are headquartered in London and successfully launched in the US in 2025, and we’re just getting started.

Engineering at Lawhive comprises a team of 40 engineers and researchers responsible for architecting, building and running the platform, relied on by hundreds of legal professionals daily in the UK, US and beyond. In the next 12 months we’re focused on:

• Pushing the envelope on the user experience of lawyers’ AI interactions
• Building modularity and country independence into the platform, expanding to the US and building the world’s first global consumer law firm
• Full stack AI‑native legal services: building software within an AI‑native law firm

This role is all about building the next evolution of Lawhive’s platform – making a difference to our customers and propelling the company to the next step‑change in growth. You’ll work alongside designers, product managers, AI researchers and the wider engineering group. As an engineer you’ll be responsible for the inception of software – from design and development to testing, release and running in production.

A day at Lawhive might look like:

• 9:30 am – Team updates in stand‑up
• 10 am – Join a “Lawyer walkthrough” to learn how a marketplace lawyer uses the product
• 11 am – Review a “tech proposal” suggesting changes to a key service
• 11:30 – 5 pm – Heads‑down engineering time on a Type Script‑based monorepo
• 4 – 5 pm – Fortnightly engineering meeting to share updates and deep‑dive talks

• Type Script for applications, front‑ends and microservices
• Python for data ingestion and AI services
• AWS for cloud infrastructure

• Build entire products and features across the stack
• Resolve technical issues and make critical decisions that affect apps, sites, and projects
• Deliver delightful user experiences and remain user‑focused
• Ensure rapid and safe product evolution with best development, security and testing practices
• Maintain high code and product quality for yourself and the team
• Assist with hiring and technical leadership

• Opinionated and motivated to improve the legal system
• Track record of delivering exceptional work with measurable results
• Experience in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments
• Highly organised with attention to detail
• Motivated, ambitious, and able to learn and adapt quickly
• Deep understanding of our tech stack and best practices
• Senior contributor in a high‑output engineering team with experience moving fast (Kanban, CI/CD, Dev Ops, Serverless)
• Worked alongside product managers and designers in product teams
• Built products from the ground up and can solve most product problems confidently
• Experience in product‑driven companies with large user impact and security awareness
