Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Planner to join our team in Dagenham. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimising transport operations to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods while maintaining a high level of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and schedule daily and weekly transport routes to maximise efficiency and reduce costs

* Manage vehicle utilisation, driver hours, and delivery schedules

* Ensure compliance with transport legislation, including drivers’ hours and tachograph regulations

* Liaise with drivers, warehouse staff, customers, and external hauliers

* Monitor and resolve delivery issues, delays, and operational challenges

* Maintain accurate transport records and performance reports

* Support continuous improvement initiatives within transport operations

* Handle ad-hoc planning requirements, including occasional weekend cover when needed

Skills and Experience Required

* Proven experience in a Transport Planner or similar logistics role

* Strong knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance

* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills

* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

* Strong communication skills and attention to detail

* Proficiency in transport management systems and Microsoft Office

* CPC qualification desirable but not essential
