Retail Butcher

We are looking for two experienced Retail Butchers to join a brand-new, high‑quality farm shop opening in Long Eaton. This position is suitable for those seeking either a temporary or permanent opportunity – both options are available.

Salary of up to £16 per hour (depending on experience) with the following benefits:

As a Retail Butcher, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing and portioning boxed meat to specification
• Cutting, trimming, wrapping and presenting products to a high standard
• Supporting the counter with customer‑facing service (no till work required)
• Maintaining excellent hygiene and food safety standards
• Supporting general prep and display throughout the day
• Working confidently both front of house and in the back prep area

This role is ideal for a butcher who is comfortable speaking with customers but also enjoys hands‑on butchery work behind the scenes.

• Strong knife skills and experience working with boxed meat
• Background in retail butchery, catering butchery, farm shops or similar
• Good communication and confidence serving customers
• High standards of hygiene, presentation, and product care
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently when needed
• Able to start as soon as possible – a strong advantage

Full‑time, 5 days per week on a rotating rota:

• Week 1:
  Tuesday – Saturday
• Week 2:
  Sunday – Thursday

Shift times: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (30 minutes unpaid break)
