Risk Analytics Team Leader – The Access Group

About you

As a Risk Analytics Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly skilled Risk Data Analysts. Your role is crucial to ensuring a smooth onboarding journey for our customers while reducing merchant and fraud risk. You will also produce dashboards and reports to inform business decisions.

Day‑to‑day, you will:

  • Lead the Risk Analytics team in the UK.
  • Develop and implement automation tools and models (workflows, scorecards) to streamline underwriting.
  • Develop and maintain Machine Learning (ML) & Artificial Intelligence (AI) models to mitigate merchant risk and payment fraud.
  • Create and maintain dashboards to track risk performance and inform business decisions.
  • Set up monitoring alerts to prevent merchant losses.
  • Work closely with the merchant investigations and fraud investigations teams to ensure effective monitoring of merchants and fraud.
  • Work on risk‑related projects as assigned.

Your skills and experiences might also include:

  • Previous experience working in data analytics in the payments industry.
  • Advanced SQL, experience with Python or R.
  • Knowledge of AI tools and advanced statistical methods for detecting and mitigating risk.
  • Experience using visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Highly productive and self‑motivated with excellent communication skills, confident working closely with customers/stakeholders and interfacing with Senior Management.
  • Extensive multitasking and prioritisation skills, able to excel in a fast‑paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
