Casual Healthcare Security Officer (Lower Sackville, NS)
Join Paladin Security Group Ltd as a Casual Healthcare Security Officer at the Quest Regional Rehabilitation Centre in Lower Sackville, NS.
Position Overview:
The Quest Regional Rehabilitation Centre provides intensive support to 24 clients, helping them build skills and transition to smaller community settings.
- Location:
70 Memory Ln, Lower Sackville, NS B4C 2J3 - Shift: 12‑hour shifts
- Payrate: $20.50 per hour
- Patrol Hospital Grounds – Conduct regular rounds of facility premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits.
- Monitor Surveillance Systems – Operate security cameras and alarm systems, promptly report suspicious activity.
- Access Control – Monitor and control entry points, ensuring only authorized individuals access restricted areas.
- Respond to Emergencies – Act quickly in emergencies (medical, fire, security), assisting staff during crises and evacuations.
- Provide Customer Service – Greet visitors, residents, and staff; provide directions and enforce policies.
- Conflict Resolution – De‑escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts calmly.
- Report Writing – Document daily activities, incidents, and security concerns accurately.
- Collaboration with Facility Staff – Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to ensure coordinated security.
- Enforce Facility Policies – Ensure visitor and patient protocols are followed and address violations.
- Ability to obtain a Security License for Nova Scotia.
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level
C. - English fluency (oral & written).
- Prior security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred.
- Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB).
- Applicants without UOF/MOAB may opt into Paladin’s training program before onboarding. Training is not paid but Paladin will cover costs with a 6‑month commitment.
- High School Diploma (minimum).
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level
C.
