Manufacturing Apprentice

Overview

Leonardo offers a range of Apprenticeships from 2-4 years across a variety of STEM and business routes, offering paid training, coupled with on the job learning that enables you to gain practical skills, experience and knowledge that sets up the best start to your career.

• Grow your knowledge of an engineering business and what the role of a technician is by being part of an Integrated Project Team.
• Develop practical skills in manufacturing and understanding key processes and technologies.
• Support early careers activities – our apprentices have the opportunity to work as STEM ambassadors in schools, colleges and universities.

• Year 1–2: spend time at college completing a Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering; rotate through Manufacturing Workshop, QA, Planning and Integration and Testing. Year 2: attend college on a day-release basis to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering and continue rotations.
• Year 3–4: continue rotating around departments, complete the workplace portfolio for the Level 3 Diploma and specialise in your chosen area; complete the End Point Assessment for the Engineering Technical Support apprenticeship (ST0457).

Academic Requirements

• 3 x GCSE grades 4-9 or A-C, or equivalent (e.g. Functional Skills Level
  2)
• Mandatory English & Maths or equivalent
