About the role
Our stores are fast‑paced environments where no two days are ever the same and food is our passion. As one of our Home Delivery Drivers, you’ll be one of the special ingredients that deliver everything our online customers shop at Sainsbury’s for.
Eligibility- You must be over 18 and have a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it.
- You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview, and if you’re successful, there will be a driving assessment when you join us.
- You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK.
- Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps on time.
- Complete checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and road‑worthy, and that delivery cases are secure before going out onto the road.
- Serve customers brilliantly, support with questions and substitutions, and keep them aware of any delays.
- Build product knowledge, services and promotions to provide recommendations.
- When not making deliveries, help across the store as needed.
- Friendly and welcoming with genuine enthusiasm for helping customers.
- Proficient in driving a large vehicle in diverse locations.
- Enjoy a fast‑paced, physical, high‑energy environment and can solve problems independently or as part of a team.
- Ready to work flexibly and productively across the store; fully trained in a variety of skills.
- Comfortable with digital tools and technology and can lift up to 15 kg.
