Blaymires Recruitment is working with a busy main contractor based near Totton, Hampshire, who is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team.
The company delivers residential and commercial refurbishment, new build, and fit-out projects across the South, with values up to £4.5M. Due to continued success, they are now looking for a motivated individual to support the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Director across a range of projects.
They are open to applications from Trainee Quantity Surveyors with at least 12 months’ experience, as well as Assistant Quantity Surveyors who are seeking their next step.
Responsibilities
* Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in managing project costs and identifying savings.
* Assist in maintaining control of variations, recording, pricing, and tracking their impact on final accounts.
* Work with subcontractors and packages, including preparation of valuations and final accounts.
* Contribute to monthly job cost analysis and reporting.
* Help review and improve existing processes and working methods.
* Manage subcontract orders, applications, and enquiries.
* Assist with feasibility studies and understanding client requirements.
Requirements
* Minimum of 12 months’ experience in the construction industry.
* HNC/Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
* Good knowledge of JCT contracts.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Based within commuting distance of Totton.
