Founded in 1983, Metro Rod Ltd and its sister company Metro Plumb deliver drain clearance and maintenance services across the UK, serving brands such as Willow Pumps and Filta within the Waste & Water Services Division.

Role
Summary:
You will manage an extensive ledger on a day‑to‑day basis to maximise cash collection, highlight and mitigate financial risk, and contribute to the achievement of financial targets and corporate objectives. Your role involves handling difficult conversations with customers over the phone, managing current debt, working to strict SLA’s and KPIs, and operating proactively, confidently and thoroughly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day‑to‑day ledger operations and generate reports.
- Exercise decisive judgement to mitigate potential financial risk to the business.
- Maintain strict SLA and KPI targets for cash collection and debt management.
- Communicate effectively with customers to resolve outstanding invoices and negotiate payment terms.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely processing of credit applications.
- Provide actionable reporting and analysis to management.
- Maintain accurate documentation and traceability of all credit activities.

- Experienced Credit Controller.
- Proficient with Sage 200.
- Previous experience within an office/call centre environment.
- Driven and keen interest in cash collection and debt reduction.

- Advanced literacy and numeracy.
