Technical Engineer
Certain Advantage are hiring for a Technical Engineer based in Maidenhead
This role is on a permanent basis.
The company:
We’re working with an organisation that provides tailored IT solutions aimed at helping businesses grow and operate more efficiently. They specialise in managed IT services including cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure and applications, communications and connectivity, as well as hardware and compliance support.
The role:
Provide on-site and remote technical support for clients across various sectors.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues.
Configure and manage Windows Server environments and Microsoft 365 tenants.
Install, maintain, and support network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and wireless devices.
Support and administer Active Directory, Group Policies, Hyper-V, and SharePoint Online.
Work with VoIP systems (preferably Gamma) and support Microsoft Teams deployments.
Document work accurately and update ticketing systems accordingly.
Escalate unresolved issues while maintaining ownership through to resolution.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
Assist with the design and implementation of IT solutions for customers.
The individual:
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Strong technical knowledge of:
Windows Server 2012+ and Windows 10/11 o Active Directory and Group Policy o Hyper-V virtualisation
Microsoft 365 tenant and SharePoint Online administration
Network infrastructure (DNS, DHCP, routing, switching)
Firewall configuration (Meraki / Draytek / Sophos)
MS Teams and cloud-based managed services. Power Shell scripting and automation, VoIP technologies, Apple macOS and iOS support
