Position: Mechanical Shift Engineer – Farringdon - £54,000 (Permanent)
Mechanical Shift Engineer – Moorgate – £53,000

Location:

Moorgate, City of London
Salary: £48,000 + £5,000 shift allowance
Shift Pattern:
Continental Shift Days and nights (4 on 4 off, 6 on 6 off)

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Shift Engineer to join a leading FM Service Provider at a prestigious banking contract located in the heart of the City of London. This is an excellent role for a skilled engineer looking to further develop their career in a dynamic environment.

As a Mechanical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of mechanical services, ensuring all equipment is maintained to the highest standards. You will work alongside a dedicated maintenance team and be involved in both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across the building.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform daily PPM and reactive maintenance tasks across mechanical services.
Respond to emergency callouts in line with KPIs and SLAs.
Maintain mechanical equipment and services to ensure smooth operation.
Carry out plumbing, pipework repairs, and minor fabric work when required.
Manage procurement of materials and equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
Supervise subcontractors when necessary.
Assist the Lead Engineer and Account Manager in meeting all statutory and legislative requirements.
Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules and operational KPIs.Essential Qualifications &

Experience:

City & Guilds Mechanical Qualifications (or equivalent)
Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within commercial buildings
Experience working in a shift-based role
Ability to take part in the call-out rota
Strong problem-solving and technical skills
