Responsibilities- Installation and Commissioning:
Installation and Commissioning automation hardware, including sensors, controllers, actuators, and other components. - Maintenance and Repair:
Performing regular maintenance on automation systems to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably. Diagnosing and repairing faults or malfunctions in the hardware. - Technical Support:
Providing technical support to clients, addressing their questions and concerns, and offering solutions to technical problems. This may involve remote support or on‑site visits. - System Upgrades:
Implementing system upgrades and modifications to improve performance or integrate new technologies. Ensuring that upgrades are carried out with minimal disruption to the client’s operations. - Documentation:
Maintaining detailed records of installations, maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades. Preparing reports and documentation for clients and internal use. - Training:
Providing training to clients’ staff on the operation and maintenance of automation systems. Ensuring that users are knowledgeable about the systems and can operate them safely and effectively. - Compliance and Safety:
Ensuring that all work is carried out in compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards. Conducting safety inspections and enforcing safety protocols. - Customer Relationship Management:
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. - Technical Expertise:
Have knowledge of automation hardware, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs, sensors, and actuators. - Troubleshooting:
Problem‑solving skills to diagnose and repair hardware issues. - Communication:
Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members. - Customer Service:
Strong customer service orientation to ensure client satisfaction. - Technical Documentation:
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals. - Attention to Detail:
Keen eye for detail to ensure accurate installation and maintenance. - Adaptability:
Flexibility to work in various environments and adapt to changing project requirements. - Physical Stamina:
Ability to handle physically demanding tasks and work in different field conditions. - Team Player:
Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with other engineers and technicians.
- Strong knowledge of automation hardware, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human‑Machine Interfaces), sensors, and actuators. Ability to read PLC programming languages:
Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Sequential Function Chart (SFC), and instruction List (IL). Familiarity with Induction motor, barcode scanners, Servo Motor, Frequency Converter etc. - Excellent problem‑solving skills to diagnose and repair hardware issues.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Strong customer service orientation to ensure client satisfaction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Familiarity with automation software and tools (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Schneider Electric).
- Field automation experience.
- Can read and speak decent English.
- Experience with datasheets.
- Hardware skill: can perform bench work using hand tools such as filing, drilling, sawing, welding, etc.
- Able to use measuring tools & special tools such as multimeter, amperes, scope/Vernier calipers, torque wrench, etc.
