You are a highly skilled and experienced Principal Planning Officer with a strong background in development management. You possess a deep understanding of planning legislation and regulations, complemented by a degree-level education or equivalent technical knowledge. You have a proven track record in managing major and complex planning cases, presenting evidence at public inquiries, and providing professional advice to a wide range of stakeholders.

Your excellent communication and leadership skills allow you to effectively guide and mentor less experienced staff while ensuring adherence to the RTPI's Code of Professional Conduct.

As a Principal Planning Officer, you will manage a caseload of planning applications, including complex and major projects, while ensuring compliance with the Town and Country Planning Acts and related legislation. You will provide planning advice, attend Planning Committees, represent the service at public meetings, and project manage strategic development sites. Your role involves leading negotiations for community benefits, handling customer queries, and contributing to service improvements.

You will also play a key role in the operational management of the team, allocating work, supervising staff, and preparing appeal statements.
