Volunteer Taster Session

Overview

St Leonard’s Hospice provides care and support for local people with life limiting illnesses. Volunteers form a committed and talented team who help across the organisation, including on site at the Hospice and in our shops, Donation Centre and Wellbeing Hubs.

If you are not sure where you would like to volunteer, there are a variety of roles where you can trial a shift or two before applying. This will give you the opportunity to meet the team, talk to other volunteers to see what they enjoy about the role and have a go at some of the tasks you might be doing.

For safeguarding reasons, tasters are only available to people who are 16 and over.

The Volunteer Services Team will help you find a suitable role, guide you through the application and induction process and be your point of contact for general enquiries about volunteering.

Volunteers will be required to complete mandatory training modules which may be delivered via booklets, our online platform, by video links or face to face. There will be booster and update refresher training as needed and you may be invited to attend role specific in person meetings where appropriate.
