Junior Production Coordinator Apprenticeship – Level 4 – Salford – BBC Studios – Kids & Family
Contract Type: Fixed‑Term Apprenticeship, Full‑time for 17 months
Location: Salford – Bridge House
Salary: £22,950 per annum
The BBC Studios – Kids & Family team produces high‑quality content for children and families across the UK. This apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to learn hands‑on production coordination in a dynamic, creative environment, working on television, audio, online and digital projects.
Your Key Responsibilities and Impact- Assist with studio and location shoots, including set‑up, equipment assembly and call‑sheet distribution.
- Coordinate crew bookings, freelancer schedules and production paperwork, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations.
- Learn best practices in production management, health & safety and safeguarding, and support the editorial team in delivering outstanding multi‑platform content.
- Support the Production Manager in delivering clear copyright clearance, post‑production paperwork and editorial vision across TV, audio and online platforms.
- Strong organisational skills, problem‑solving and negotiation ability.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Resilient, responsible, with a calm focused approach to challenging situations.
- Flexible, motivated and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Enthusiastic self‑starter, adaptable to out‑of‑hours working where required.
- Be 18 years old or over by September 2026.
- Lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to apprenticeship start.
- Legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire apprenticeship duration.
- Not currently enrolled in another apprenticeship programme.
- Underage applicants (under 19) must hold a Grade 4/C or above GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent, or achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of the apprenticeship.
The apprenticeship lasts 17 months and provides industry‑recognised training, mentoring and career development. Successful completion offers pathways into Production Management, Production Secretary or Production Coordinator roles within the BBC.
