Piping Designer

Role Purpose

To provide piping design and 3D modelling support on water industry projects, delivering coordinated, constructible, and maintainable designs using Revit within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment.

• Produce 3D models and General Arrangement drawings using Revit
• Design and layout wet and dry well pumping stations
• Design ductile iron and epoxy-coated carbon steel pipework
• Design valves and pipe support systems
• Integrate vendor equipment packages into plant layouts
• Model access platforms, stairs, handrails, and maintenance access ways in line with client and industry standards
• Participate in Access, Lifting & Maintenance (ALM) reviews
• Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines to ensure clash‑free models
• Maintain drawing registers and ensure documentation complies with company and client standards

• Essential:
  Proven experience as a Piping Designer within the Water Industry
• HNC in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Experience with wet and dry well pumping stations
• Experience with ductile iron and epoxy-coated carbon steel pipe systems
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Navisworks
• Understanding of pipe supports, plant layout, and equipment access requirements
• Ability to interpret P&IDs and equipment data sheets
• Knowledge of relevant piping codes, standards, and health & safety requirements
• Strong communication and coordination skills
