My client is a specialist manufacturer within the precision metal industry. They are looking for a Senior Estimating & Engineering Lead to join their team in the Manchester area on a permanent basis.

The Senior Estimating & Engineering Lead will ideally have the following attributes:

Previous experience in sales, estimating, proposals or engineering roles
Strong practical and technical knowledge of CAD software – Solid Works or similar
Knowledge of metal treatments, stamping, precision forming would be beneficial
Experience working with multiple cross-functional teams (Engineering, Production, Sales)
Experienced producing quotations and queries
Experience Providing technical consultancy internally and externally
Good mathematical and general engineering knowledge
Be self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
Have excellent communication skills both verbal and written

The Senior Estimating & Engineering Lead role will involve:

Providing Design and Estimating support for customers, the merchant networks and Sales teams
Gaining technical competence and understanding of the key functions of the company's products and services
Communicating with customers, providing technical consultancy, responding to enquiries, and liaising with external sales teams
Working with the Projects Team to convert client requirements into details designs and technical instructions
Technical creation of quotations
Taking over requirements from the sales team and seeing them through the technical stage
Planning and organisation
Innovative thinking and problem solving
Working in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects
