Job Title: EHS Specialist – Battery Energy Storage Systems

Location: Lancashire preferable – Travel to Middlesborough, Lancashire, Stoke, Bristol and other UK areas.

Employment Type: Initial 12‑month fixed‑term contract, with potential to become permanent.

Envision Energy is a fully integrated OEM for utility‑scale energy storage systems. We manufacture our own cells, DC storage systems, bi‑directional inverters, transformers, PPC, EMS, and SCADA to build power plants powered by batteries, displacing traditional coal and gas generators and enabling renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.

We are seeking a proactive and experienced EHS Specialist to support our expanding portfolio of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across the UK. You will play a critical role in ensuring health and safety compliance, focusing on electrical safety in Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) environments and fostering a strong culture of safety across multiple project sites.

• Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations, especially in energy and construction sectors.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments on active BESS projects.
• Develop, implement, and maintain BESS‑specific health and safety plans.
• Lead and support incident investigations, including root‑cause analysis and corrective action planning.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training to employees and contractors.
• Promote best practices in electrical safety, with emphasis on LV and HV systems.
• Maintain and update safety records including RAMS, audit reports, incident logs, and training records.
• Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to enforce and improve safety performance.

• NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent recognised Health & Safety qualification) – Essential.
• In‑depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and applicable codes of practice.
• Background in energy or construction sectors – experience in renewable energy or BESS projects preferred.
• Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols in LV and HV environments – Highly desirable.
• Demonstrated experience conducting safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

• Ability to design and implement practical safety strategies and controls.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Confident delivering inductions, safety briefings, and training sessions.
• Detail‑oriented with a commitment to high standards of safety and documentation.
• Team player with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively with contractors and multi‑disciplinary teams.

• Travel to project sites across the UK approximately 2 days per week.
