Siemens Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our renewable project delivery team in Manchester as a Primary Equipment Project Engineer. The High Voltage Grids division is a global leader in products, systems, and services for reliable and intelligent transmission and distribution of electrical power. Through our Grid Access (GA) and High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) businesses, we connect clean and renewable energy such as offshore wind farms and interconnectors to national grids in the UK and beyond.
In this role, you will report to the Project Manager or Director and manage engineering work packages in line with project and business objectives. This is a chance to contribute to the development of efficient and sustainable power infrastructure while working on projects that make a real difference.
How You’ll Make an Impact- Deliver the Primary Equipment project scope on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards.
- Coordinate design, testing, manufacturing, and site activities to ensure robust electrical engineering packages, drawings, hardware delivery, and commissioning.
- Manage technical aspects of offer and order processing, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, costing, and risk management.
- Oversee subcontracting and maintain strong collaboration with project teams and technical experts.
- Handle reporting, information management, process reviews, and ensure timely completion of orders.
- Be flexible with work location: office-based during design, travel during procurement, and site-based during installation.
- Completed university degree in electrical engineering, electrical power engineering, or a comparable field (typically 3+ years, desirable).
- Post-graduate professional experience, including project management exposure.
- Strong technical knowledge in high-voltage transmission equipment and auxiliary systems.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and project management tools.
- Business-fluent in English;
German is an advantage. - Intercultural experience preferred, with willingness to travel for customer meetings and site support.
