We are recruiting on behalf of a growing consultancy within the construction and built environment sector, seeking a Finance Assistant to join their Manchester-based team.

This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance career to gain hands-on experience within a project-led business, supporting financial operations across multiple high-value schemes.

The Company (Client Overview)

Our client is an established consultancy operating across the construction, infrastructure, and property sectors, delivering support services on a range of complex projects throughout the UK. Their work spans commercial developments, public sector schemes, and technically challenging refurbishment and regeneration projects. The business is known for its collaborative culture and long-term project relationships.

The Role

As Finance Assistant, you will support the finance function with day-to-day transactional and administrative tasks, helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and smooth project cost control.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments

* Raising sales invoices and assisting with applications for payment

* Reconciling bank accounts and supplier statements

* Supporting month-end processes and basic reporting

* Assisting with expense claims and payroll data preparation

* Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems

* Liaising with project teams and external suppliers as required

About You

We are looking for someone who:

* Has previous experience in a finance assistant, accounts assistant, or similar role

* Is confident using Excel and accounting software

* Has strong attention to detail and organisational skills

* Is proactive, reliable, and keen to learn

* Is studying (or interested in studying) AAT or similar (desirable, not essential)
