Mortgage Underwriter

Location:

Manchester City Centre, M1 – 5 days per week onsite, hybrid working options available after successful completion of probation (minimum 3 days per week onsite). Operating hours : x3 9am 5.00pm and x2 11x 7pm.
Salary: £32,548 per annum + competitive bonus scheme

Responsibilities:
As a Case Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing secured loan applications from start to finish, ensuring they are processed accurately, comply with company and regulatory standards, and meet clients’ unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manual underwriting from application to authorization

* Efficiently process loan applications, ensuring compliance with internal policies and FCA regulations

* Authorize loans within specified limits

* Conduct thorough risk assessments based on financial stability

* Maintain effective communication with clients, brokers, and stakeholders

* Manage a personal caseload, ensuring timely progress from application to completion

Qualifications and Skills:

* Minimum 12 months’ experience assessing or processing loan applications – ideally in second charge lending or motor finance

* Experienced in working to sales targets

* Knowledge of financial regulations and lending practices

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

* Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

Work Arrangement:
Hybrid working available after probation (6 months). Up to 2 days per week remote.
