Global Media Company | Manchester | Hybrid (2 days per week in office)

Our client, a world-renowned media business with productions famous across the globe. They can be found in every home across the UK. Leading the charge in digital streaming. We are looking for someone who can help us get the numbers right when it comes to paying the people who make our content possible.

What you ll be doing

Join our Royalty Payments team within Finance Operations, where you ll oversee the accurate calculation, reporting and distribution of royalty payments to producers, broadcasters, talent and rights holders across global operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role that sits at the intersection of finance, contracts and operations. You ll be managing both new deal integrations and ongoing statement production, ensuring everyone is paid correctly and on time.

No small feat when you re dealing with licensing agreements, revenue shares and residuals across multiple territories and formats.

Day to day, you ll be:

• Calculating royalties for new contracts and overseeing accurate statement production for existing agreements
• Interpreting complex licensing deals and translating them into watertight payment calculations
• Reconciling payments, advances and recoupments while investigating discrepancies
• Working closely with Legal, Business Affairs, Finance and Technology teams to resolve queries and improve processes
• Leading your team through multiple reporting cycles, setting objectives and developing their skills
• Identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline how we work
• Acting as the go-to person for complex calculations and system optimisations

What we re looking for

You ll need solid experience in royalty accounting, licensing, finance or similar data-intensive environments. Someone who is genuinely comfortable with contracts, numbers and the detail that sits between them.

Specifically:

• Excellent stakeholder management – you ll be dealing with talent agents and internal finance teams
• Team leadership
• Strong track record interpreting contracts and licensing agreements
• Deep understanding of royalty structures (licensing fees, revenue share, residuals)
• Advanced Excel skills – lookups, pivot tables, complex formulas and large datasets
• Experience with royalty or ERP systems (Rightsline, Alliant or similar)
• The ability to translate legal contract language into accurate payment terms
• Sharp analytical mind with obsessive attention to detail

This is a 12-18 month fixed-term contract, with real opportunity to influence system optimisation and automation.
