The role sits within a well-regarded finance function and works closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
The Role You will have end-to-end responsibility for indirect tax matters, acting as the primary VAT specialist for the business. The position combines technical ownership with advisory exposure, making it ideal for a strong VAT professional looking to move into an in-house environment with breadth and visibility.
Key responsibilities include:
Full ownership of UK VAT compliance across the group, including oversight of VAT returns and group structures Maintenance and ongoing development of the Partial Exemption Special Method (PESM) Providing clear, practical and commercially focused VAT advice to senior stakeholders on transactions, new products and change initiatives Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments and assessing business impact Acting as a key liaison point with HMRC and external advisors Supporting finance-led projects including systems improvements, controls and process enhancements The Candidate This role will suit a technically strong indirect tax professional who enjoys operating close to the business and influencing outcomes.
You are likely to have: ACA / CTA qualification (or equivalent) Training from a Big 4 or leading tax advisory firm Strong UK VAT experience, ideally with exposure to financial services
Experience of partial exemption and VAT grouping The confidence to engage with non-tax stakeholders and provide pragmatic advice A proactive mindset, comfortable operating in a fast-paced and evolving environment Why Apply?
