Role for Adult Social Worker within a Community Mental Health Team. Full-time office based.

he post holder will be based at a Community Mental Health Team within the Salford Division of Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder will provide assessment for service users and carers, in line with the Care Act (2014). The post holder will act as a care co-ordinator in line with the Care Programme Approach (CPA).

The post holder will be an Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) or willing to undertake the relevant training and will carry out the statutory duties of an AMHP in accordance with the relevant legislation and policies.

They will work to the Social Work England Standards of Proficiency for Social Workers in England.

The post holder will report to the Team Manager for day-to-day management. Professional social work supervision will be provided by an Advanced Social Work Practitioner.

The post holder will aim at all times to promote the independence and well-being of adults with mental health needs; assist social inclusion and valued community presence and enable the widest possible expression of chosen lifestyle.

Ashberry Recruitment would ask that applicants meet the following:

  • DIPSW or equivalent qualification in Social Work
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced and in date DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on information available.
  • Can work alone and within/contribute to a team/multi-agency set ups
  • Possess knowledge of service needs.
  • Competent IT skills and be able to navigate electronic file/recording systems.
  • Can write clear, concise, and robust assessment/reports/files.
  • Have a flexible approach to work and working hours when the need arises
