Senior Cloud Platform Engineer; GCP

Are you ready to lead the next wave of cloud innovation? Join our Cloud Native Engineering Lab as a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer (GCP) and help us design, build, and operate secure, automated cloud platforms that empower product teams to deliver API‑first services at pace and with confidence.

• Engineering Leadership: Be a hands‑on leader, balancing deep technical work with mentoring and coaching to raise the bar on reliability, security, and simplicity.
• Platform Development: Design, build, and operate Google Cloud Platform (GCP) capabilities using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform) and modern CI/CD tools (Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Harness, Spinnaker).
• Security & Reliability: Embed secure‑by‑design principles from architecture to runtime, safeguarding colleagues and customers.
• Performance & Automation: Define and operate against SLOs/SLIs, implement actionable observability, performance tuning, and automation to reduce toil.
• API‑First Enablement: Enable API‑first delivery with reusable patterns and golden paths for API producers and consumers.
• Community & Mentorship: Mentor engineers, contribute to communities of practice, and uphold Platform Engineering standards.

• Proven experience delivering large‐scale systems with high performance, availability, and fault‑tolerance.
• Expertise in Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform) and CI/CD systems.
• Deep knowledge of containers, orchestration (
  Kubernetes
  ), and service‑mesh patterns (
  Istio
  ).
• Strong API design and security skills (REST/OpenAPI, auth
  
  N/Z, mTLS, certificate lifecycle).
• Scripting proficiency in Bash or Python.
• Depth in GCP services
  , including:
• Cloud Load Balancing
• Apigee for API Management
• Desirable:
  Harness, Hashi Corp Vault, Dynatrace, Docker/buildah, NodeJS for API tooling, relevant GCP certifications
  .

• Delivered automated, hybrid‑cloud platforms in agile teams.
• Collaborate across architecture and business stakeholders.
