Assistant P&C Underwriter – Chubb Global & Commercial Insurance Practice

As an Assistant P&C Underwriter you will deliver high‑quality service to underwriters and brokers while developing technical capability and broader business skills across the UKI and Commercial Insurance Practice.

You will support the P&C team in line with Chubb’s growth plans. The role primarily focuses on underwriting, renewal and processing of renewable P&C business in accordance with our appetite, authority limits and business plan.

• Assist in the underwriting and processing of renewable P&C renewals in line with our appetite and limits.
• Manage mid‑term adjustments and general queries from brokers.
• Prepare and update Multinational Request Forms to allow quotations from our Global Servicing Team.
• Support the booking of policy premiums.
• Update systems with key property information to understand exposures.
• Liaise with brokers, clients and internal stakeholders at meetings.
• Meet policy documentation standards, quoting time frames and compliance issues.
• Develop knowledge of P&C underwriting and Chubb’s appetite.
• Operate within the Chubb Code of Conduct, Compliance policies, Peer Review and protocols established by the Company.

• Ideally 1 year of experience in the insurance market; candidates with a Customer Service background or Graduate will be considered.
• Demonstrate a practical, common‑sense approach to differing situations and resolve problems within tight time‑frames.
• Minimum A‑level standard.
• Competent in Microsoft Office.
• Expected to undertake “on‑the‑job” training; may work in other Chubb offices.
