The department

This is a long-standing private client team providing legal and tax advice to a range of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients including individuals, families, business owners and entrepreneurs.

The specialist team advises on all aspects of onshore succession planning, wealth preservation and tax mitigation, including:

  • Wills, lifetime planning and estate administration
  • Formation, management and taxation of trusts and family investment companies
  • Inheritance tax and capital gains tax strategies
  • Charity formation and administration
  • Advisory work for internationally mobile clients concerning their UK estate and tax exposure

The team also handles contentious trusts and probate matters for executors, trustees and beneficiaries. The department's culture promotes collaboration, professional support and open discussion, with solicitors entrusted with a significant degree of autonomy on high-value, complex and rewarding work.

The role

We are seeking an experienced solicitor at Senior Associate or Partner level to join our client's stellar private client offering in Manchester.

The successful candidate will:

  • Advise high-net-worth clients on lifetime and death estate planning
  • Provide expertise in inheritance tax mitigation and wealth protection
  • Manage estate and trust administration and related advisory work
  • Supervise junior fee-earners and contribute to the development of the team
  • Support and grow client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives

Experience with charity law, income tax and capital gains tax would be advantageous.
