Procurement and Supplier Development Lead

This role is responsible for developing supply chain readiness and supplier capability to support a significant production ramp-up across complex manufacturing programmes. It focuses on supplier engagement, industrialisation activities and capacity assurance to enable sustainable growth, continuity of supply and long-term performance across an evolving manufacturing environment.

This position would suit a procurement or supply chain professional with strong experience in supplier development within a manufacturing environment. It is ideal for someone who enjoys working cross-functionally, improving supplier performance, supporting production growth and influencing strategic sourcing and investment decisions through data‑driven analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier development activities to ensure capacity, capability and supply chain readiness
  • Conduct detailed supplier assessments, risk evaluations and run‑at‑rate demonstrations
  • Collaborate with internal manufacturing, engineering, quality and commodity teams
  • Support make‑or‑buy decisions and strategic sourcing recommendations
  • Identify cost‑saving, performance improvement and capacity expansion opportunities
Requirements
  • Strong experience in Supplier Development within Procurement or Supply Chain role
  • Experience with in highly regulated Manufacturing
  • Degree qualified or similar
  • Awareness of APQP and Lean Principles

0800‑1630 (Mon‑Thurs), 0800‑1300 (Fri) – flexible, 37 hours per week

Salary: £50k – £60k (dependent on experience)
