Caretaker, Facility Maintenance, Building Maintenance

Belmont Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Caretakers for multiple posts across Greater Manchester, covering Newton Heath, Leigh, Longsight, Hough End Greenheys, and Claytonbrook. Applicants are asked to provide a preferred working location, ideally a single preferred site. These are full-time roles working 37 hours per week.

Overview:

The role will involve caretaking, janitorial and basic maintenance duties across operational sites, supporting the safe and effective running of buildings and facilities. Some posts will be static, with one role covering multiple sites.

Main Duties:

• Carry out caretaking, janitorial and portering duties across designated sites

• Complete basic maintenance and minor repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing curtain rails, mounting shelves and painting

• Undertake cleaning tasks including high level cleaning and carpet cleaning

• Assist with moving and setting up furniture and rooms for meetings and training

• Carry out leaf clearance and grit spreading to car parks, paths and walkways

• Complete basic recording and checking tasks including weekly fire alarm tests, lift checks, ladder safety checks and asbestos monitoring

• Follow all health and safety procedures including manual handling, working at height and COSHH requirements

Essential Criteria :

• Previous caretaking, janitorial, handyman, portering or similar experience within a medium to large scale organisation

• Experience of carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs

• Knowledge of basic cleaning equipment, materials and methods

• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

• Physically fit to carry out caretaking duties including lifting, loading, unloading, carrying equipment and furniture, bending and pushing

• Understanding of health and safety requirements including manual handling, working at height, COSHH and safe use of equipment

• Ability to complete basic recording and checking tasks, with training provided where required

• Good attendance and performance record

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to work across sites as required
