Specialist Costs & Insurance - Senior Legal Recruitment Consultant

The Role

I’m working with a top-tier national law firm recognised for its specialist expertise and long-standing client relationships. As part of its continued growth and dedication to excellence, the firm is now seeking an experienced Costs Supervisor to lead a high-performing and well-established Costs team.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the team's performance against financial and quality targets, supporting and developing team members, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-standard work. You’ll lead on workload distribution, supervise costs case strategies, and ensure compliance with internal policies and client requirements. The role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on caseload delivery and offers a strong development pathway into higher-level management.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Costs professional with a strong technical background and proven leadership ability to take the next step in their career within a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The Candidate

  • Strong technical knowledge across all stages of litigation, including detailed assessments, standard costs, budgeting, and negotiation
  • Full financial and handling authority for hourly rate work
  • Demonstrable experience managing or mentoring a team within a legal or costs environment
  • Ability to inspire, coach, and support team members to achieve their potential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Skilled in auditing, performance analysis, and delivering feedback
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to manage profitability, client expectations, and complaint resolution
