JOB DETAILS : JOB BAND: B; CONTRACT TYPE: x2 Fixed-Term Contract / Attachment, Full time till 31 July 2026 & 31 January 2027; DEPARTMENT: BBC Children in Need;

LOCATION:

Salford - Hybrid; PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £25,700 - £28,333 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience.

The Grant Operations Officer will support all aspects of grant making functions and will play a key role in giving detailed advice to applicants, applying eligibility and due diligence criteria to applications. Your

Key Responsibilities And Impact
  • Provide a high level of service to all applicants and grantees who contact the charity by phone, email and post.
  • Give detailed advice to applicants and provide support throughout the application process, enabling the highest quality applications to reach the charity.
  • Process grant applications for the charity’s responsive programmes and assist in the design and delivery of any new grant making processes.
  • Work as part of a team when required to support the charity’s Appeal Operations team.
Essential Criteria

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in the charity, voluntary or public sector, preferably in a grant making environment.
  • Extensive experience of using databases regularly, working under pressure with high volumes of work and prioritising workloads effectively.
  • Advocate of great customer care with extensive experience dealing regularly with the public.
  • Computer literate with strong MS Office skills, including the ability to analyse and manipulate data and interpret both written and oral information.
  • Produce clear and well‑written written communications and be a great listener by drawing out information over the telephone.
Desired But Not Required
  • Experience of assessing grant applications against specific policies.
  • Specific knowledge of children and young people’s services would be an advantage.
