- We would like to welcome an experienced RGN qualified General Practice Nurse to join our team at Parkside Medical Centre . We are a GP practice serving over 7000 patients in Longsight Manchester. We are a friendly team consisting of Doctors, Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, Clinical pharmacists, Care Co-ordinator, supported by Receptionists, Secretaries, IT and Administration staff. We are also a Teaching Practice.
- The post we are recruiting for is to cover 30 hours per week on a permanent contract working at Parkside Medical Centre, Longsight Manchester.
- The main duties involve Child Immunisations, Cervical Screening, Travel Health, Chronic Disease Management , and an understanding of Quality Outcome Framework (QOF.) Targets.
- The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as be a good team player. The ability to work under pressure is essential.
- As an EMIS Web organisation, previous experience using this system would be desirable but not essential as full training would be given.
Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence, and to acknowledge limitations following the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice at all times.
Advise patients on general health care with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary

Diabetes/Respiratory
Cervical Cytology
Dietary advice
Urinalysis
Health screening
Ear syringing
Dressings
ECG
Contraception
Routine immunisations and vaccinations
Removal of sutures / clips
Baby/childhood immunisations
Assisting with the fitting of IUCD / IUS
First registration checks / health surveillance / general health advice
Assisting with minor procedures in the treatment room
Organise and coordinate the provision of nursing services for the practice and promoting sound infection prevention and control.
Provide general and specific health screenings to the practice patients (within agreed protocols) with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary
About usThe successful applicant will be a committed and motivated GPN to complement our forward-moving, busy, Central Manchester practice working alongside 2 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, Managing Partner, Practice Nurse, Clinical Pharmacists, Advanced Clinical Practitioner, HCA, and full complement support staff to meet the needs of our growing patient list of over 7000.
With a Good CQC-rating, Parkside is a high QOF achieving practice which values team working and staff development and applicants would be well supported in taking an active role in delivering patient-centered care of the highest standards.
The practice utilises EMIS WEB, DOCMAN, EPS, ICE, Gateway & Accu Rx messaging.

We are also joined by GP trainees and students from Manchester University
- The post we are recruiting for is to cover 30-37.5 per week on a permanent contract working at Parkside Medical Centre, Longsight Manchester.
- Experience in Chronic Disease Management is desirable as well as Childrens Immunisations, Cervical Screening, Travel Health, Wound Management, and an understanding of QOF.
- The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as be a good team player. The ability to work under pressure is essential.
- As an EMIS Web organisation, previous experience using this system would be desirable but not essential as full training would be given.
- More than 1 Year of experience working as a Nurse in a GP practice
- Registered Nurse (RN):
Must be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), and hold a valid NMC PIN. - Nursing Degree:
Successful completion of a Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) qualification. - Postgraduate Training:
Additional qualifications in primary care nursing, community nursing, or relevant areas such as chronic disease management or family planning are highly desirable. - Specialist
Certifications:
Experience or certification in areas such as immunizations, wound care, minor injury management, or sexual health would be an advantage. - CPD:
Evidence of ongoing professional development in line with NMC requirements.
